flowers in plural?

Why is it des fleurs and not des fleures? As i understand it, flowers are feminine.

Des pommes ?Hi there, another question from me about articles. In the example above, "J'aime seulement les pommes", does this not refer to "the apples" versus apples in general. I thought one would use "des pommes" in this case. Merci, Kathy

Passé simple vs. Imparfait"During that time, I was very busy." is translated using le Passé simple. However, would not l'Imparfait be more appropriate here, given that it is a statement about a longer period of time? -- Chris.

Adjectives after c'est are masculineYet the examples state: "C'est une jolie robe," and "C'est une bonne nageuse." Why is the feminine used here?
