Bon jour.
If indirect speech is in the present tense, is it necessary to replace ce/cette/etc with something?
E.g.
Sophie demande à Oliver: “Explique-moi cette règle !”
Elle lui demande de lui expliquer cette règle-là.
Because in the indirect speech we don't know what is "cette" règle.
A2 question « The family are totally unbearable.
La famille est
Les familles sont
La famille sont
Les familles est
The question is incorrect in English, hence it prompts an incorrect answer in French. I suggest that the English version be written correctly (singular) so that the student is not misled.
How would you say « whom do you miss »?
Je pense que « les tubes » seraient meilleures que « les hits », non ?
I don't know why but I am just not able to get what the other person is saying in french. Like my listening is not improving at that pace
Can I just check the spelling of the second "apparus" in Céline’s reply to Jenny-Anne?
She says "The correct answer was - Both sentences are correct
as you can say Puis, nous sommes apparus and Puis nous avons apparus"
In the test, it says -Il termine dans 2 minutes. shouldnt it be ..en 2 minutes. i have learnt that when some action finishes within a particular time we use en.
Hi, if I was to say ‘I have been learning French since I was in school’, would I say: ‘J’apprends français depuis j’étais à l’école’ or ‘j’apprends français depuis je suis à l’école’? I am no longer in school so I’m thinking it may be the former however I’m not sure if the whole sentence needs to be in the present tense. Thanks
Why is it not "doucemment" with a double "m"?
bonjour mes amis,
est-ce qu'on peut utiliser « à côté de » comme un sinonyme pour « avec » ? Ou c'est seulement pour la distance ?
par ex.: C'est notre livre, on va l'étudier à côté d'une bonne méthode pédagogique.
Merci bcp d'avance.
