Shouldn't this read " whether it's a positive or negative sentence" ?
I want to know the affirmative impératif, negative impératif, affirmative pronominal interrogative and negative pronominal interrogative form of future proche.
This question was found on a C1 test. The answer that was provided was: Nous avons ouvert les fenêtres de peur qu'il n'ait une fuite de gaz.
My problem is with the use of the word might. Might means may be, could be, which suggests the use of pouvoir, de peur qu'il ne puisse y avoir une fuite de gaz. When translating the answer that was given, I would say: We opened the windows out of fear there was a gas leak. No might is needed.
Hello!
I saw that the correct answer was "la liste au Père Noël de ma fille"; does "lire la liste de ma fille au Père Noël" sounds/is wrong to french ears? Is there some rule or lesson about this?
Thanks in advance,
Luiz
Hello,
So what I'm getting here is use only Est- ce que when you have a yes or no question instead of inverted form?
Thanks
Nicole
The question read, How do you say, “We don’t know you at all.” Before I clicked on the drop-down arrow, I was expecting to see: Nous ne vous connaissons pas du tout. I was surprised to see that the choices only included the familiar form: Nous ne te connaissons pas du tout. Wouldn’t the fact that the familiar form was used imply that we do know you? Is it that I was applying a literal meaning to a figurative question?
Somehow it was hard to understand the verbes after »elle » but of course it’s my fault, I need to study
Hello - would anyone be able to help with typing accents? I'm not able to add any into the answers. Thank you
