With regards to both conjugations, is one more common than the other when speaking and the same when writing. I think a French friend of mine said once that one is more common over the other when writing.
Also, should I learn both ways or just the one that I find easier?
Thank you
Why is “ils préfèrent apprendre allemand” marked as a wrong answer? I thought either “allemand” or “l’allemand” was correct here.
"L'énergie qui se dégage du terrain est électrifiante."I think this should be "L'énergie qui se dégage du terrain est électrisante."
According to Larousse/Robert/Collins (and wordreference), there are 2 verbs for the English 'electrify':
Figurative use (charged atmosphere, give an electric shock to etc)- électriser, with the adjective 'électrisant(e)'
Physical use (provide electricity supply etc) - électrifier, with the adjective 'électrifiant(e)'
I was how to rephrase "Je me souviens de votre frere" and I answered "Je me rappelle de votre frere". This was scored as incorrect, with the correct response given as "Je me rappelle votre frere". Aren't both "se rappeler de" and "se rappeler" correct?
Can Faire also be used with musical instruments similar to Jouer? Like -
- Je fais du violon.
- Je fais de la guitare.
- Je fais de la flûte.
Can Faire & Jouer be used interchangeably with musical instruments? Or is there any exception to this?
To make the distinction clearer between the 1st and 2nd examples at the start of this lesson, instead of the translation, 'I don't care about the other options' you may wish to add 'THE other'
Why is it "de chez mes parents?"
Kwiziq, I think this lesson needs a little reviewing!! There's much confusion in this for learners at the minute.
"This is a number written in French: "14,052" How would it be expressed in English?"
The correct answer to this is also '14,052' fourteen thousand and fifty two, but I'm told the answer is incorrect. The only reason you would ever put a fullstop in there '14.052' would be to express a very accurate measurement for example '14.052g' - fourteen point zero five two grams.
Is there anything grammatically or idiomatically wrong with "Je ne suis pas vraiment intéressé par la peinture"?
Vous vous souvenez des îles Cyclades. = Vous ________ îles Cyclades.
I wrote rappelez. I understand that it should have been VOUS rappelez, but why vous rappelez DE? I am really struggling with this one!
