Why is it "disparaisse" and not "ait disparu"? Because at the time of the story being told (two days before she disappeared) she had not yet disappeared?
Is "baies rouges" acceptable or only "fruits rouges"? And does "fruits rouges" mean a specific type of berry, or can it be e.g. redcurrants, cranberries etc?
How do you know when to use qui or ce qui in a sentence both can be followed by a verb?
Selon Grevisse, on n'est pas obligé d'accorder "on" au féminin ou au pluriel quand le sujet est bien défini et féminin ou pluriel (voire les deux).
Hello - I am confused about the construction with etre and en retard. Are both the constructions below correct? From my understanding of the video and Chris' reply to another question, only the 2nd one is correct. However, the first is used throughout the lesson.
1. Je suis arrivé dix minutes en retard. [construction in lesson]2. Je suis arrivé en retard de dix minutes. [construction in video]
Is there somewhere I can find the number of French topics covered on Kwiziq per CEFR level?
When doing these exercises I use the Library Index to search for translations of words/phrases I am not familiar with.
In this case I searched for "magical" and the result shown was féerique. This however was marked wrong!!
I also searched for "pitch tent" and could not find a result for pitch but got a result unrelated to tents, so searched for tent and found to put up a tent = "installer une tente"
This too was marked wrong and instead "planter" was the word used. However planter is not even in the Library index.
What is recommended as the best resource for definitions for these exercises so that we can find the correct translation?
