Can you use d'ici in the past? For example, can I say: "La semaine dernière j'ai beaucoup travaillé, a tel point que d'ici vendredi j'étais crevée."?
Bonjour ! Can you explain me how to use tiret (-) in writing numbers ? Merci !
In the question "I went back to see her." I replied J'ai retourné la voir. Wrong.
Whenever I check on some verb sites for the passé composé for Retourner it gives me Avoir as the auxiliary. How do I determine when this type of verb uses être or when it uses avoir?
Could you have said 'le mur en face' instead of 'le mur d'en face'?
In English there may be a difference in meaning between "You went out even though I wasn't ok with it" and "You went out even though I'm not ok with it"; I might have changed my mind in the interim: "You went out even though I wasn't ok with it [, but now I am ok with it]." Wouldn't this second sense require the imperfect rather than the subjunctive in modern French: "... bien que je n'étais pas d'accord"?
What is the difference between "soi" and "soi-même"? Can't they be interchangeable?
Example: "On peut toujours trouver plus fort que soi/soi-même."
HI,
I was wondering would these two sentences be correct?
1) nous aimons Faire de la randonnée au canada
2) nous randonnons au canada
It's not homework just understanding the lesson on here better for practice.
Thanks
Nicole
Hi, I have played "J'en vaux vraiment la peine !" a number of times and it sounds like she is saying "vous" and not "vaux" - it sounds like "vaux" in "Tu vaux mieux que ça !" - can you please confirm if it is right or wrong?
Since "que" is in front of "un", it means "I bought only one bike" (not two). If I want to say "I bought only a bike." (meaning I bought a bike and nothing else), can you say "Je n'ai acheté un que vélo?
