Bonjour forum et les experts
Au sujet de la parte de la phrase, 'dont il avait pu admirer les grandes percées' , je me demande si c'est également correcte de l'écrire, 'dont il avait été capable d'admirer les grandes percées' ?
I find this expression interesing: "comme le veut la tradition". Is there a specific lesson for that?
Would it work also in these examples? E.g. "The cake was made of chocolate, like how he wanted it." "The red coat is more beautiful, as she says."
Thank you
Cecile,
I believe, 'Alice never listens to you.' would be:
Alice ne t'ecoute jamais. Sorry, I don't know how to put accents with my keyboard
There should be an option to play slowly do each word could be deciphered separately. This would be a good addition to the listening practise section.
Hello!
Throughout the writing activity where I described the boys neighborhood, I continued to use "Tu" instead of "On" when it asked me to type "When you want to go out, you have a lot of choices!"
The correct answer according to the computer was "Quand on veut sortir, on a beaucoup de choix !"
Can someone explain why On is used instead of Tu?
Thanks!
When talking about Saturday and Sunday, "le" is used. But the grammar section on articles + days of the week says that if you are talking about a particular day of the week (i.e., a particular Saturday, as the Saturday of this romantic weekend) and not the day in general, you don't use the article. So why is it used here?
Can someone confirm the rule? Merci!
With compound verbs and dual-verb constructions, the first and second word of most* negative pronouns surround the conjugated (first) verb. The exceptions: Personne and aucun place ne in front of the conjugated verb and the second word after the main verb.
Par exemple: Je n'ai vu personne hier. (I saw no one yesterday.)
