Faire plaisir

Could someone explain how I can create sentences with this statement below?

In French you can also use the expression faire plaisir à [quelqu'un] to say to please [someone], to make [someone] happy

Thank you very much !

Hi Peter,

Yes, you can use 'faire plaisir à quelqu'un' for to please someone, to make someone happy.

Here are a couple of examples -

Je suis venue voir ma mère, ça lui a fait plaisir = I came to visit my mother, it made her happy

Faites-moi plaisir et envoyez-moi ce dossier tout de suite = Please me/make me happy and send me this file straight away

Hope this helps!
