No French translation in this lesson

I'm not sure why but in this lesson, the examples I see are all in English. There is no French translation. Anyone else had this problem? I have seen it once or twice before.

The pronunciation of ‘paysage’ was too difficult, I could not recognise it. Otherwise I did Ok.

How come there is elision for "Je suis austrailen" but no elision for "Je suis australienne"?

Visiter not in the infinitive form

sorry if this is a stupid question but why isn't visiter written in the infinitive form after a conjugated verb (rendre)

Role of "des"

I don't understand the construction of " j'avais des démangeaisons ". What is the role of "des"? It looks like a preposition between an auxiliary verb and a main verb. Or is "démangeaisons " a noun? It certainly looks like a verb. Thanks for any help.

Quiz question 'Ils ont besoin que nous ________ avant le début de la cérémonie.'Ils ont besoin que nous ________ avant le début de la cérémonie.They need us to arrive before the beginning of the ceremony.(HINT: Conjugate arriver in Le Subjonctif Passé)
Why does this question require le subjonctif passé, rather than merely the present subjunctive?Couldn't I just use this?Ils ont besoin que nous arrivions avant le début de la cérémonie

Instead:Ils ont besoin que nous soyons arrivés avant le début de la cérémonie ? But doesn't this translate as "They need us to have arrived before the beginning of the ceremony"?

Eye ball shape, plural or singular

Why is it singular for "globe oculaire?" The English phrase would seem to be "in the shape of eye balls" since glaçons is plural. It would be a bit strange to write in English "eye ball shaped ice cream scoops." There are just too many qualifiers of scoops, IMHO.

Correction in lesson text

"Note that, like for dates in general..." is incorrect English. It should be "Note that, as for dates in general..." or "Note that, like dates in general..."
