Sometimes the answers were written as numbers (4h45) and at other times in words (cinq heures moins le quart). The full text uses all words. Are words really more common for stating times?

Is it also OK to say:
Il on a besoin avoir du bois sec as we as il faut avoir du bois sec.
SEC is one syllable - I thought one syllable adjectives went before the noun?
Why is the first "Il a de l'argent", but the l' is gone in the negative "Il n'a plus d'argent"
Could you have as an alternative translation 'J'aurais pu l'y laisser' ?
Why is alors que wrong rather than pendant que. Is alors que only used for opposition?
E.g. why not say Oui maman, il est sur la plage derrière ?
