How to contugate intelligent with nous in french
We are asked to use the historic present for one small section and then revert to the past tenses. I’m not clear why there is that change. Whenever I have seen the historic present used at various sites, they maintain it all the way through.
You have described that to visit a *place* is "visiter" but visiting a person is rendu visiter. In this example someone is visiting a place - ie an apartment - why is this rendlu visiter, as you state?
Bonjour,
In this example:
Regarde ces filles. Celle qui court s'appelle Sophia
Can I use "Ce qui" instead of "Celle qui" as follows (remember ce qui, ce que, ce dont)?
Regarde ces filles. Ce qui court s'appelle Sophie
Merci d'avance.
Why does the first word have its final “e”? Is is agreeing with the feminine noun “fin”?
Also, is the first word best considered as an adjective or as a past participle in this sentence?
An optional translation is given as: a déjà commencé à me poser problème.
Could you please explain why, in this case, there is not an indefinite article (un) before the word 'problème'.
Thanks
Il rappelle son ex à Maria -> He reminds Maria of her ex.
Do we know here that it's Maria's ex rather than his ex? If we do, then how would we say his ex?
Why isn't it "qu'est-ce qui sent comme le chocolat" if the answer is "what smells like chocolate"? It looks like "what does chocolate smell like."
Ceci représente un usage exclusif et spécifique. Celui des "Hommes" (par rapport aux Femmes). Elle n'a guère de sens général . Je comprends bien que le pronom: "On" ne s'accorde pas s'il y a un sens général ( Ex: Dans cette societe, on est né libre). Cependant, je ne suis pas convaincu que la phrase" En tant qu''Hommes" soit "un sens général"? Expliquez svp
merci d'avance
