Can someone please explain why the correct answer is:
"Alain s'attendait à ce que cette situation se résolve d'elle-même."
I don't see any sense of "dread" in the reading of this sentence.
This is based upon previous tests. In one, the correct answer is given as "Ce qui me touche,c'est son pauvrete." In another test, the answer is said to be "Ce que je trouve angoissant, c'est son mode de vie." These seem to me to be very similar but in one there is "ce qui" and in the other, "ce que" I thought I understood this issue but the difference between these questions makes me a bit confused. Could you possibly take the time to explain why they are different from one another? It may take more than a referral back to the lesson. Thank you!
I thought the verb "lancer" means to start/initiate, and "jeter" means to throw.
Two things: I looked up the suggested words and phrases on Google Translate, and a bunch of them ended up being marked wrong. Why not just give us a vocab list at the start?
Also, the phrase "He is very good" is followed by the hint ("good at basketball "). I'm not sure why a hint was given, since the answer was "Il est très bon". Because of the hint I thought the answer must need something more, when it didn't. Maybe eliminate that hint from the exercise? It doesn't serve a purpose.
Hi. Elsa eats and I buy.. Shouldn't you rather use the progressive form in the translations, Elsa is eating and I am buying, as the simple present denotes habitual or repeated actions, as if Elsa were eating them every day and I buying new sheets daily ?

Pourriez-vous expliquer l'exemple "Nous n'habitons pas ici depuis très longtemps.", s'il vous plait ?
Merci
Hello,
My listening is crappy, as I simply cannot understand what is being said even when I know some words.... Pls any tips on how to improve my comprehension in listening?
In Part 3 : La seule chose qu'elle nous a laissé faire, ce sont les carreaux, here "les carreaux" has been translated as "the windows" and I think that may be an error. Or are they a particular type of window that she had in her room that she didn't know how to clean?
