In Part 3 : La seule chose qu'elle nous a laissé faire, ce sont les carreaux, here "les carreaux" has been translated as "the windows" and I think that may be an error. Or are they a particular type of window that she had in her room that she didn't know how to clean?
Translation error ?

Translation error ?
This question relates to:French interactive reading exercise "Le grand nettoyage de printemps"
Asked 3 years ago
Hi Paul,
I have checked and we are talking about a bedroom, so 'windows' is correct.
faire les carreaux = to clean the windows
Carreaux here refers to the panes of the windows.

Hi Paul,
I think that this refers to (ceramic) tiles --> Les carreaux
The only other window that I can think of is "vitrine" as in a shop window.
Hope this helps.
Jim

Thanks Jim. I also thought that a carreau was a tile but just found out (thanks Mr Google) that a carreau de fenêtre is in fact a window pane.
