You really need to work on these types of exercises. Sometimes if there are two example sentences and you write one word from example one but the rest of your sentence matches example two, it marks that sentence wrong even though it is right. You need to include every combination of correct sentences!
As per Danilo's comment previously, (~11 months ago) it would be helpful with the examples for parler/finir/faire/prendre to have both the translation for the present tense form (as currently is included) and also for the imparfait form associated. I had to do a double take on this too - the lesson is on imparfait, and I expected consolidation of the meaning of those conjugations in the section. Relatively minor but useful, I think.
Hello kwiziq team,
Why is “Une histoire très interéssante” correct? très being a single syllable adverb shouldn’t it be “ une très intéressante histoire” ?
In this example of passive voice for se faire gronder why does faite end in e? I thought fait was invariable when a past participle following a feminine/ plural direct object with avoir or following être as in this case.
Why is il habite without an apostrophe if it begins with h
Can I say "téléphonons -lui"? If not, why? I thought the l'imperatif can be used for the 1re pers au pluriel ( aka nous )? I googled it but I couldn'
Hi, I think I'm a bit confuse when comes to gender. I thought whenever for feminine, need to add -e. But, how come there is a gender for fruits. And when come to souris, how do I know the gender for the animal?
Le joli garçon est avec la jolie fille.Je mange un melon vert et une pomme verte. One of the quiz questions was "Le Comte Dracula habite _____________ Roumanie.
I wrote "en la" because I assumed, per the regular rule, that Romania is feminine (therefore takes -en) and is a country, not a city, and would require the article "la". Since the sentence is not about going-to or coming/being-from, it would require the article, n'est-ce pas?
I haven't touched french in three years, and when I try to test the AO stuff again, It throws in C1 stuff I haven't seen since 2019, and it's a little humiliating to get all of the other stuff right, but still watch my scores plummet because I didn't remember how to conjugate the imparfait on my "Introducing yourself" Quiz.
Bonjour Madame Cécile !
I wanted to ask a query I came up while attempting this dictée ->
“Par chance, personne n'a été blessé”
Madame, why has the verb “être” been conjugated in Le Passé Composé ? However, Être is a verb of state and generally takes L’Imparfait.
Now, Madame, if a sentence is given -> The film was great.
There are two possibilities-
1. Le film a été merveilleux. 2. Le film était merveilleux.
How to judge whether a Verb of State takes Passé Composé / Imparfait ?
Merci encore Madame pour votre aide.
Je vous souhaite une bonne journée!
