Hi all, may I know what the difference is between même and comme? Thank you.
Je ne comprends pas pourquoi on peut dire "la robe la plus belle"?
In this sentence "Nous sommes décidés" is passé composé right?
If so, why do we use this combination of être and décider?
I don't understand how we can just use être and passé composé like this.
Is it right to say both
Je part de la maison
Je sors de la maison
This is actually confusing, as it seems the sentence might be incorrect. I keep wondering why it isn't Quelles chaussures ils/elles plaisent? Or Quelles chaussures tu plais?
I’ve noticed that ‘violet’ changes with gender and number too, despite being named after a real thing, like orange and rose.
Is this correct?
When is the past subjunctive used in the 'by the time...", if ever.
What exactly does this phrase mean? I translate something like "Like a good granny cake". What is a granny cake?
Why does one say "j'ai arrêté de parler" and not "je me suis arrêté de parler"?
arrêter is a transitive verb and thus to my understanding takes an object but the verb parler can not be an object in the example above. So how do I know what one to use.
I thought, incorrectly, “je n’y avais eu pris aucun plaisir”; et “je n’y avais eu demandé d’y retourner.”
Merci pour clarifierça.
