'N'y va pas' is translated as 'Don't go there', and ' Don't go anywhere' is marked wrong. Yet 'On y va' means 'Let's go' The 'there' is implicit. Surely 'N'y va pas' is the negative of 'On y va'? so ought to be translated as 'Don't go'. In English the 'there' makes it too definite, you would have to have a destination in mind, rather than just leaving somewhere. 'Anywhere' is a better translation, surely?
I was wondering as I am understanding adjectives. I'm confused on extrêmement! There was a sentence in my book that saying un extrêmement vieux livre but it was marked wrong when I put extrêmement at the end of the noun live. Why is that wrong?
Thank you!!
The example I sighted uses Une tenue (not une chemise) and the correct answer was given as:
une tenue bleu marine.
If a color derives from a real thing or a you have color + a real thing the color adjective never agrees according to the lesson. Therefore, I am confused as to why an example in a quiz marked the following incorrect:
X une chemise bleu marin
I am given : une chemise bleue marine as the correct response
Marin is sailor or seafarer which is a real thing. This lead me to believe there would be no agreement.
In this sentence why is it not 'était fournie', to agree with 'une paire'?:
une paire de boules Quiès étaient fournies
Is it possible to just use the keyboard when navigating the site (especially when doing exercises, quizzes, etc...)? Of course, a mouse can always be used, but when you're trying to concentrate on the subject matter having to remove your hands from the keyboard and back all the time is just one extra thing to think about. It's pretty standard to use the tab key to move from item to item and the return key to execute (click) an item. But I notice that this only partially works on the site. For example, I can use tab to select an audio, but then I don't see how to play it (without the mouse). Maybe there's a secret shortcut, but I searched for keyboard and shortcut in the FAQ and Forum and couldn't find it. In any event, thanks for the great site -- trying to help you make it even better.
Why aurait and not ferait, after all, elle fait froid.
I was just wondering if there is a way to hear the difference between choisissions and choisissons? or is it like there their and they're in english?
