can we use afin de for reflexive verbs? is it a je vais dans la salle debains afin de me laver?
The dictée is missing "mélange dans un moule".
Hi,
I was doing a Kwiziq quiz and got thsi question: "
________ appelle mon père.I call my father.I thought the answer was je s'appelles, so I put je s'. The correct answer is "j' ". Why is there no reflexive part to it? No me, se, te or anything. I was a little thrown off by that. It would only be "j'appelle" - is that correct?
Pourquoi pas , "mon sac à dos"
To piggyback on the question below, sort of, I have heard & read the use of garder to describe babysitting children, par exemple: "Nous gardons les enfants ici." This obviously doesn't mean that they are physically keeping possession of the kids there, like prisoners (although the kids may think so). Is this one of those instances where context is everything or is it incorrect usage?
Example above we have used "Ils ont été" to mean "they were", however I learned elsewhere that to say one was, in the past, we always use imparfait, which in this case would have been "ils étaient". Please help me understand.
Might be worth a reminder that -er verbs drop the final s in the singular impératif... Tu donnes.. donne!.. otherwise a bit of a wild goose chase if you make that mistake!
