Reference lessons

For the line « Il n'aime pas le vert » one of the reference lessons is to the use of colours as adjectives with changes in gender/number. However, in this sentence « vert » is a noun, and a more relevant reference would be to the use of (definite) articles with ne ... pas as linked here:

Du/de la/de l'/des all become de/d' in negative sentences (French Partitive Articles)

Bonjour Maarten,

Thank you for your feedback! The reference lesson is correct as the 'best option' for the translation is using 'la couleur verte' instead of 'le vert'. However you are right that the definite articles don't change in negative sentences as per the note in the lesson you've mentioned (Du, de la, de l', des all become de or d' in negative sentences (partitive articles)).

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
