In the lesson the -i- in Yorkshire is not pronounced as an "ee'' sound (like the ee in ‘fee’ for example) as I would expect, could you please clarify. Thank you.

So it seems that it's pronounced -œur (like "sœur"), which is perhaps the closest to the RP English pronunciation, but not what you would expect from a French word spelled -ire.
