It's explained here:
Du/de la/de l'/des all become de/d' in negative sentences (French Partitive Articles)
and here:
"Des" becomes " de/d' " in front of adjectives preceding nouns (French Partitive Articles)
So, in your example there are actually 2 reasons why it has to be de.
