Hi Raymond,

This lesson was to conjugate 'vouloir' in the future with the correct subject pronoun, here using 'on'.

Un jour, on ____ acheter une maison One day, we will want to buy a house

On is another way of saying 'nous' but it agrees with the verb as with il or elle third person singular), and I will let you conjugate it.

You may want to look at this lesson to see how 'on' is used.

On can mean either we/one/people (French Subject Pronouns)

Bonne Continuation !

The tricky part in this sentence is to recognize that on is the subject and nous the indirect object.

On nous voudra acheter une maison. -- [lit.] We (on) will want to buy ourselves (nous) a house.

Chris, you have (inadvertently?) rewritten the sentence to be completed in Raymond’s example from the lesson to read ‘ buy ourselves a house’, but the French is incorrect.

The question in Raymond’s example was to be answered simply ‘un jour on voudra acheter une maison’. (noting Cécile’s response)

It would need to be ‘ un jour on voudra s’acheter une maison ’ or ‘ nous voudrons nous acheter une maison ’ if ‘ourselves’ is to be included as you have written. In the reworded sentence, it is also not correct to interchange ‘se ‘ and ‘nous’.

The object needs to go before the infinitive in the reworded sentence you have included.
