Isn’t the present tense also acceptable?

“On vous appellera quand on arrive” would be considered an acceptable, if casual sentence, as opposed to “on vous appellera quand on arrivera” which is a bit clunky, no?

Bonjour Oliver,

in French, "on vous appellera quand on arrivera" is correct as it is the right way to express this. Using Le Présent after "quand" in this situation, can be heard in very casual situations, but it's not correct grammatically speaking. In French, "la concordance des temps" (sequence of tenses) is very important to respect.

Take a look here for more details: Concordance des Temps - French Sequence of Tenses

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
