'Elles rentrent après le bus les a déposées' is this wrong because le bus is the subject of the subordinate clause? Bearing in mind this: https://www.lawlessfrench.com/grammar/apres-vs-derriere/ which suggests native speakers do whatever they can to avoid apres que?
--> Why did the English translation not include 'lui'? I believe it should be 'You had been able to say goodbye to him/her.'
There isn't a correction while I wrote the test for the section "peut-être au cafe à côté de la boulangerie" It just shows you at the end where it presents the whole text.

There's been some issues with the tests again! I think you know what kind of problem it is right now, because it happens quite occasionally and frequently, so I'll leave you to figure it out!

It would have been helpful to those of us who have never read Harry Potter to have words which come from the book in the helpful hints section.
Why can't "ensemble" go before "à la plage"?
eg. nous sommes allés ensemble à la plage.
I was seeking an answer to the same question posed by White below. It can quite easily be included in a lesson for the sake of completion. Some examples of "exceptions" would be welcome.

In the first A1 Listening Practice exercise, Liz asked whether run-on sentences are acceptable in French. Michael explained what they are. You asked Liz for an example, which wasn't given there.
The 4th and 7th sentences in this exercise are good examples.
I have seen so many of them throughout the exercises that I can only conclude they must be acceptable in French.
Still, confirmation of that fact would be welcome.
The order of verbs in the headline, participles in the first line of text, and the subsequent examples are in different orders. It would be helpful to order each list the same.

Both were given as the correct response - 'avait' in the main response and 'avaient' in the compare your answer box.
