Hi.
How come 'croire ses yeux' but 'faire les ongles'? I thought that it should be 'croire les yeux' as possessive pronouns should not be used for parts of the body.
Thanks
Megan
I wrote ´nous nous sommes brossés les cheveux’, which was marked as only partially correct. It should have been ´brossé’. I don’t understand why the ´s’ shouldn’t be there. Agreement with ‘nous’.
Can anyone help, please?
Hello.. having problems getting the pronunciation of this phrase.. hearing it as sache and not getting the "iez" of the subjunctive
Il faut que vous sachiez vos leçonsIn a recent French reading practice Port Grimaud is described as “ un ancien village typique”. The side-by side translation describes it as “a typical old village”. The lesson on the use of ancien tells us that when used before a noun it means former therefore why is it translated as old in this context?
How come in the 3rd sentence, "l'avion" is used and in the rest of the excerpt, "le vol" is used?
I don't understand the usage of "à enchaîner" here.
Can someone explain the grammar ? It's not a fixed expression as far as I can see. Why à + infinitive ? Why not en + present participle ? Is it the same thing ? How would we translate this ? By/while enchaining ?
Is it the same as "en enchaînant" (en + present participle) , which would mean "in enchaining", or perhaps "while enchaining"
am I correct ?
Thanks Paul.
Although I write the true answer such as "qu'est-ce que....", because of not beginning the sentence without capital letter, it is not accepted as a true answer! The aim of this courses / exercises should not be PUNISH, it should be COURAGE !!!
