This lesson is a bit confusing to me. The grammar rule is stated very clearly but then the examples are confusing. Just a suggestion but I think to make this lesson less confusing perhaps there could be more explanation of the examples. Also reading the English translation makes it seem like the what is the subject but then the french translation seems like the what is the complement of the verb. Then, the example that confused me the most in this lesson was one of the quiz questions.
In the example, why is 'you would have been in trouble given as vous auriez eu des problems'? I would have expected 'vous auriez été .....' What am I missing?
I know that in direct pronouns are me, te, lui ... and they are used when the noun comes after a preposition but why is it m'aide and not l'aide?
So when does one use mille and milliers de? Are they interchangeable?
Les enfants ont-ils récité ces mots en sautant à la corde?
You managed to finish your exercise.HINT: Conjugate arriver (to manage) using le Passé Composé (conversational past)
The answer given is ‘es arrivé’. So, even when ‘arriver’ means ‘to manage’ rather than ‘to arrive’, & therefore doesn’t actually have anything to do with movement or coming & going, its auxiliary is still être rather than avoir?
Are there any further such instances we should bear in mind?
Thank you.
Hi there, the last example in the video is:
Je donne une pomme à Paul.
Would the replacement with lui be:
Je lui donne une pomme
What if I wanted to replace the une pomme with la, what would the word order be?
Merci!
In the context of "nous allons dans le salon et nous pouvons enfin ouvrir nos cadeaux", why is "finalement" marked incorrect? Don't they both have the same meaning?
