I have been trying to understand what “fixerent” means/where it comes from (please excuse lack of accents in my question). At first I thought the translation should be the two dogs stare or are staring at each other.I then found a conjugation table and found “fixerent” (with the accent over the e) is passé simple.I have only just been moved up to “B2” level on Kwiziq but I don’t understand how the passé simple is used and so don’t follow it’s use within this lesson. Why is it not passé compose using etre? Thanks for your assistance.
The first two sentences of the exercise use "on" rather than "nous" for we. Why is the "nous conjugation of the imperative verb (prenons) used rather than the "on" conjugation (prend)? That is why "Prenons un selfie"... rather than "Prend un selfie"...?
I'm curious about why we say "Je lui parle", but "Je pense à lui. Can we say, "Je parle à lui" and Je lui pense"? Why does "parler" use an indirect object pronoun and "penser" use a stress pronoun? What is the reasoning behind this? Is it something to do with the meaning of the verbs, or is there no logic to it?
Le temps

Can one use 'une pénalité' for 'penalty' or is that just used in rugby as opposed to soccer?
In the bottom half of the quick lesson it says:
"- the more elegant
Comment se fait-il que ... ?-> Note the use of inverted question form to emphasise the elegant structure."
Did you leave out 'cela' between 'Comment' and 'se fait-il'?
Bonjour à tous,
pourriez vous m'expliquer la différence entre ces 2 phrases ? (pourquoi on réutilise «de» dans la première et non dans la deuxième)

I don't understand this
French: "Vous parlez d'autres langues"
English "Are you speaking about other languages?"
if "de" comes from "parlez", the lesson says it needs to be contracted to "des"
but here, it's just "d'"
A2 question « The family are totally unbearable.
La famille est
Les familles sont
La famille sont
Les familles est
The question is incorrect in English, hence it prompts an incorrect answer in French. I suggest that the English version be written correctly (singular) so that the student is not misled.
