How do you determine which conjugated form of the verb do you use in sentences such as "Jean et moi sommes allés au cinéma.". It appears the conjugated form of the verb with nous has been used. I cannot understand why this is.
One of the sentences for translation would not play so I had to leave it blank and continue.
Yes Paul. I agree with you. I never learned phrases like that in school. Would they be commonly used ie. Should I try to use them in conversation or would I get funny looks, haha?
Hi,
Internet was slow, it took ages for posts to register. At least one of my entries did not register at all. I made only one mistake, 'auparavant" which l spelled with an e (auparavent). Some punctuation challenges. So, l had rated myself 59 out of 60, not 49 out of 60. How do l fix this?
Est-ce que c'est possible d'écrire "Je n'ai fait rien", ç'est-a-dire, mettre le "rien" de la négation à la fin de la phrase ? Je crois avoir entendu qu'avec ce mot c'est possible mais Kwiziq ne me l'a pas permis.
The speech on this recording is very unclear. I really struggled to make out the words, even after listening to each phrase multiple times.
"It is green" still gets "il est vert" marked wrong, despite the fact that it appears to refer to a specific item (as opposed to using "c'est vert," the preferred answer, which would indicate something more general--despite no indication of such in the sentence). Tired of having my score set back (I had to use up most of my free quizzes for the month to make up for this). Please fix. Would also be nice to have the "report it" button on the page that people seem to say exists but which I have never seen.

This may be a strange question, but if you have/see a female dog and you want to describe her, would you use il or elle since "dog" is a masculine noun but the dog itself is a female. Like would I say Il est très gentil or elle est très gentille? I am asking because where I live I always hear female dogs referred to as "il" even when everyone knows the dog is a girl. I don't know if that's just because they don't care about the gender of the dog, or because the proper way to refer to it is as "il" since dog is masculine.
this dictée made me smile. It's heartening to know that certain domestic issues are universal! :)
