La fois dernière or la dernière foisPlease help! I'm confused! Why is "la fois dernière" correct in this question, when there is a clause after the phrase "last time"? Thanks 😊
________ , Henri est venu me voir.Last time, Henri came to see me.(HINT: une fois = one time)
La fois dernière (marked as correct) Dernière fois Fois dernière Une dernière fois

BUT
When last time is followed by a clause (last time I saw you), you can only use la dernière fois, never la fois dernière.
Tu étais encore avec Stéphane la fois dernière.You were still with Stéphane last time.
Tu étais encore avec Stéphane la dernière fois. You were still with Stéphane last time.
Tu étais encore avec Stéphane la dernière fois que je t'ai vue.You were still with Stéphane last time I saw you.
Can you say "la plupart de mon weekend" or "la majorite de mon weekend" here?
The sentence to be translated:
And then, after taking a deep breath,
The correct response given is:
Et là, après avoir respiré un grand coup
Why is là used? I wanted to use puis but it wasn’t given as an option.
Would puis work?
I notice in the sentence 'l'animal perdu s'est mis à dévaster les plantations, manger les fruits, et même boire le bandji' that the à is not repeated before the later infinitives. I thought repeating this preposition was usual - or is that only when it comes before nouns?
Is there any list of nouns before which indefinite articles don't change in negative form?
The speech on this exercise is so unclear it's almost impossible for an intermediate speaker to understand. I understand you're trying to provide a variety of accents and voices, but I don't think it helps someone at an intermediate level to give a lesson with a very unclear voice. I played this to a native French speaker, and she had trouble understanding it. Please re-record!
I have few friends
Are both translations correct?
J'ai quelques amis
J'ai peu d'amis
Regars, John M
The listing of all of the cases can mislead people that may not have done previous lessons; either assume people know the difference between qui and que and cut out the listing or assume they don't and shine a light on:
(Tout ce) qui = Subject of the following verb
(Tout ce) que = Object of the following verb
