Why not simply : J’ai peur qu’il soit à l’heure ? Why is « ne » necessary ?
je pense que c'est Costard et pas costar.
Can someone explain the structure of this phrase: "j'ai cru à une blague de mes amis"? I would've thought the translation would be more like, "J'ai cru que c'était une blague de mes amis".
Why was my answer marked wrong because I used tu instead of vous when there was no indicator either way.
Wouldn’t either choice be correct in a quiz?
I realize that in speech there is always a reason for choosing tu versus vous.
Thank you
Merci Aurelie. This was a really fun and uplifting song to listen to. Great listening practice. You are right - it is a bit fast, but I was able to follow along while reading the lyrics. Actually, the first two lines were the hardest to understand - I'm not even sure what it means in English to 'redden the tea in Amman's souks'!
Loved watching everyone draw their colorful images, too.
Can you please put more in the story thanks
A challenging topic I've been trying to learn about recently is finding gender neutral terms to use for non-binary people's jobs. For example, "Iel est bibliotechnician." In this case, using -an as an alternative to the masculine -en and feminine -enne.
I don't really have a question. I'm just expressing that this is a difficult aspect of this French topic!
In this example the French is in Le Subjonctif Présent but the English translation is in the past tense (present tense would be "unless you are lying to me"). Why is the French not "Je te crois à moins que tu ne m'aies eu menti"?
Wish we could delete these rather than having to leave a '.' in the submission or otherwise fill the space, like this!
