Cueillir changes the 'ir' to 'er' before adding future endings, right?
and Vieillir keeps the 'ir' ending before the future ending.
Is there a list of regular 'ir verbs versus irregular 'ir verbs?
Thanks.

Hi Carole,
We do not have such a list but in a nutshell :
Vieillir is regular as it keeps its infinitive stem to form the future and the conditional just like irregular IR verbs like sortir, partir, etc.:
Vieillir + future endings
Je vieillirai, tu vieilliras, etc.
Cueillir is irregular in so far as it looks like an ER verb in the future and the conditional. It is also irregular in the present as we say -
nous cueillons and not, nous cueillissons
Je cueillerai, tu cueilleras, etc...
The other verbs which behave in the same way are its derivatives - accueillir ( to welcome) and recueillir ( to collect)
But I can't think of any others at the moment...
Hope this helps!
