In the last sentence, why is the verb form used, nous ne serons pas pris, instead of, nous ne prendrons pas. I'm not sure what this verb tense is.

Verb tense question
This question relates to:French writing exercise "Ready for the zombie apocalypse"
Asked 3 years ago
Hi Tom,
The expression in the text is -
ne pas être pris au dépourvu = not to be caught off-guard
It is a passive voice as Chris says and the tense is the future.
Here is a page that I found on the conjugation which might interest you -

Bonne continuation!

Nous ne serons pas pris is future simple passive voice: we will no be caught.
Nous ne prendrons pas is future simple active voice: we will not catch.
