un and autre agree in gender (un/une/autre)

1) It seems 'autre' only agrees in number, as seen in the examples. If there is a situation where there's agreement in gender could you please provide an example?

2) In the example of Maxime being hyperactive, should it be: Elle est hyperactive (F)?

Hi Andrea,

1. the word 'autre' is what we call in French 'épicène' ( gender-neutral) meaning it doesn't have a masculine and feminine form, think of 'habile' as an example of an adjectif épicène. It also applies to nouns of some smaller species in French like 'le rat', 'la souris' which can be either female or male.

2. The name Maxime in France is a boy's name.

Hope this helps!
