What an excellent question! And the answer is that in French, it's colloquial not to use "with" with "definite article+parts of the body", as follows:
J'écoute les yeux fermés.
I'm listening with my eyes closed.
Je marche les mains dans les poches.
I'm walking with my hands in my pockets.
