She knows from university

Hello again :) my last question, why did the right answer use "de" instead of "depuis" l'université ? thank you in advance again.

Bonjour Rainy,

This is a very interesting question! ;-)

Here, "de" is the correct answer as you will use "de" + [location]" to express "from" + [location]. Also, "depuis" does not fit with this as it means "since" + [time], meaning "since my time at university".

You're right: "Depuis can also mean from"

Depuis + [location] = From + [location]

Je vous écris depuis Lyon. = I am writing to you from Lyon.
Nous voici à Paris, en direct, depuis le Stade de France ! = Here we are in Paris, live on air, from Le Stade de France!

Depuis can also mean from but not in this sense, right? « Je peux voir la mer depuis mon balcon »
