Qu'est-ce c'est la différence en français entre "he made the dish, which she loved" (she loved that he made it) et "he made the dish that she loved" (it is her favorite dish)?

Interesting question ...
I would say that for the first one you would have to use 'ce que' and change to verb so -
Il a fait le plat, ce qu'elle a apprécié
as opposed to maybe conveying that it is her favourite dish -
Il a fait le plat qu'elle aime énormément
