Possessive adjectives with à and au

Hi! How do I know when to use au vs. à when it precedes a possessive adjective? For example:

Je vais à/au ma voiture

Bienvenue à/au mon musée

Does it depend on the gender of the object? Thanks!!!

au is the contraction of à + le.
