Unrelated but in the example "Elle est descendue à la cave chercher une bouteille de vin." Why wasn't "pour chercher" used rather than just "chercher"? Is there a difference in meaning?

Off-topic: chercher vs pour chercher
This question relates to:French lesson "Descendre can be used with avoir or être in compound tenses depending on its meaning in French (Le Passé Composé)"

Hi Danielle,
Is it not just the difference between "to search" and "in order to search"?
That's what comes to mind for me.
Hope it helps.
Jim
