I’m not sure why there is a distinction in the translation of ‘we went to a wedding’ and ‘anyone we know’. Can anyone explain the different usages here?

Nous sommes or on est

You can use either "nous" or "on" in both cases. (But they specified they wanted us to use "nous" in the first instance, whereas in the second they left it up to us and marked both correct). Ordinarily I think French people would use "on" almost all the time here, but I guess we still need to know how to use "nous".
