Hi Murat

'Ne pas se lever' is the correct infinitive form for 'not getting up'.

e.g.

Je ne vais pas me lever tôt demain matin = I am not going to get up early tomorrow

Il ne va pas se lever avant elle car il a mal au dos = He is not going to get up before her as he has back ache

Ils ne se lèvent jamais avant 11 heures du matin = They never get out of bed before 11 am

Hope this helps!

Bonjour Murat, Je vais me lever tôt The negative statement, I am not going to get up early seems to me to be Je ne vais pas me lever tôt ! However, it is possible that Je vais ne pas me lever tôt ! could also be correct, i.e. I am going to not get up early. Perhaps we need to hear from Aurélie as to which is correct on this. Ron

No, ne . . . pas needs to be separated, for sure

What does Cecile's, "Il ne va pas se lever devant elle car il a mal au dos = He is not going to rise up in front of her as he has back ache" mean?

Sydney, my understanding of the phrase Cecile posted is thus:

He is not going to get up before she does (presumably from bed) because his back hurts.

J'espère que ma réponse va vous aider.

Hi Sydney,

I agree it wasn't a brilliant example so I have changed it using what Ron was trying to say.

Merci Ron !

Hello. Quand est-ce qu'on doit utiliser: Je me leverai (futur simple) vs Je vais me lever (futur proche)?

Hi MM,

Just as in English

I will get up Je me lèverai
I am going to get up Je vais me me lever

"ne pas se lever!" is this a correct form?
