I put ...ne sois intending it to be the ne explétif. And it marked it as wrong. So I got the subjunctive bit right at least. Why is it not the ne explétif?
Thanks

Bonjour,
Take a look at this similar question: Nicholas asked: "Pourquoi il n'y a pas un ne explétif ?"
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
The ne expletif is only following certain expressions, such as il est venu avant qu'elle ne soit partie. AVANT QUE triggers the possibility of trotting out the ne explétif. My French friends seldom bother with it, plus it sounds a bit pompous and old fashioned. It is important to recognize it rather than actually use it.
