I believe "endroit" should have been allowed in "si je visite un ..." as it is used in the final written dictation and also in the hint in the phrase which follows "si je visite un...". "Lieu" is currently the only acceptable answer.

Lieu vs. endroit
This question relates to:French writing exercise "My sense of direction"

Hi Frank ,
I have checked and both endroit and lieu should be accepted so if this is not the case, please use the Report it button on your correction board .

Hi Frank,
I think there is a nuance, however. Lieu is a space of course, but not particularly specific.
Endroit as I understand it refers more to a space particular to some activity -- you might want to plant some flowers where it is known to be sunnier for example, or maybe somewhere more favorable to find something or to do something.
I don't know for sure of course, but I suspect that this could be the reason why "endroit" was not accepted?
Bonne Journée.
Jim
