J'en vaux vraiment la peine !

J'en vaux vraiment la peine !

J'en vaux vraiment la peine !I'm really worth it!
Tu vaux la peine.
Why in the second example, the 'en' is not necessary? If i say 'Tu en vaux la peine', would it translate differently to 'Tu vaux la peine'?

Hi Amy,

Where did you see -

Tu vaux la peine

I couldn't find it in the lesson.

As you would say

Tu en vaux la peine/Tu le vaux bien  !

for

You are worth it!

Are you thinking of -

Ça vaut la peine = It's worth it!

which doesn't need the 'en ' or the 'le' ?

Hi Amy,

The second example is -

Tu vaux mieux que ça = You are better than that,

a slightly different meaning from -

J'en vaux vraiment la peine! I am really worth it!

When I think of to be worth it, I always think of the l'Oréal slogan which in French is -

Parce que je le vaux bien! = Because I am worth it!

Hope this helps!

I did not ask for 'Tu vaux mieux que ça'.

My question is 'Tu en vaux la peine' VS 'Tu vaux la peine'.

'Tu vaux la peine' is from one of the quiz questions. I wish I can print screen and show it to you here.

Anyway, I just clicked on the 'report issue' link and submitted the issue for the relevant quiz. I guess there was an 'en' missing in the sentence.

is still in the pool of quiz questions. Still need to be fixed.

I just took this quiz and had the same question as Amy from 5 months ago (see screenshot in the link).  If it's "j'en vaux la peine," then should it be "tu en vaux la peine?"  I'd like to know if this quiz question is incorrect.

Thanks!
