Hi, so i'm reading exercises du style and there´s the following phrase: l'autobus est arrivé. Alors j'ai monté dedans. Wouldn't the être variant be appropriate here?

J'ai monté dedans
Hi Ramiropuelmas,
No, I am afraid it is incorrect and you have to use the auxiliary être when the verb monter means -
to go inside, to get on, to embark
as stated in the lesson.
Bonne Continuation!
It must be a deliberate error. "Exercices de style" retells the same story in different styles. In this case it's someone (a child?) who starts every sentence with "alors".

This is a mistake that French people make so you will hear it, but it is incorrect ...
I think we all agree it's incorrect. I was suggesting that Queneau did it deliberately, precisely because it's the sort of mistake such a narrator might make. I doubt that he would make the mistake himself.
Hi Alan,
I am not a great fan of Queneau, but I am sure that it is the sort of French that Zazie would use, a bit like saying -
You was
instead of
you were
in English.
So, in case you are still wondering, the answer to the question you actually asked is 'Yes, you are correct. It should have been «Je suis monté dedans»". The response 'no... that is incorrect' did not actually answer your question. Fortunately the subsequent comments from Alan made that clearer.
