Is "de la" in this sentence partitif?
Can we also translate it to "c'est la même couleur"?

Hi Hillary,
The hint said
' specifically - le collier',
so
'il est de la même couleur'
is the only correct one here.
If you said generally -
Tout ça , c'est de la même couleur = All this is in the same colour
( note the 'de') as the expression is -
être de la même couleur = to be the same colour (as something else)
Is this an exception to the "c'est before determiner" rule? Because "the same colour" is effectively an adjective?
«...il est de la même couleur» is the better choice. «Il» to reference a specific and previously mentioned noun (in this case in the same sentence) - «le collier», «de la même couleur» (literally 'of the same colour').
