Future tense for -uyer verbs
Hi In my kwiziq test I was penalised for using essuyeras instead of essuieras, while your instructions suggest that both forms are acceptable? Could please clarify? Best wishes Marija
This question relates to:French lesson "Conjugate semi-regular -oyer/-ayer/-uyer verbs in the future tense in French (Le Futur Simple)"

Maybe you're confusing essuyer (to wipe) with essayer (to attempt)?
The optios for essayer are essaierai and essayerai. For essuyer only essuierai is correct.
Bonjour Maruja,
I took a look at the lesson and I cannot see where in the lesson, it is explained that verbs ending in -uyer, such as essuyer or s'ennuyer, have 2 acceptable endings in Le Futur Simple.
Take a look at these 2 link below too (including one of our partners' sites):
https://conjugaison.bescherelle.com/verbes/sessuyer
https://www.lawlessfrench.com/verb-conjugations/essuyer/
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
