Fence

In the writing challenge "A day in the countryside" the word "fence" is translated as "barrière" but the word "clôture" is not allowed. Is there a reason why "clôture" is inappropriate?

Hi David,

Not an expert but I understand that a clôture refers to a fence; yes, but a wire fence.

Barrière refers to a gate type structure.

It depends what scenario was in the mind of the author as to how the piece was written but this is my input for what it is worth.

Alan
