The lesson notes an exception for naître (correctly) and for apparaître. It does not clearly state the exception for apparaître - although I note in discussion it has been mentioned it is because it also conjugates with être in passé composé. As I understand it, and checking other verb conjugation sites, this is correct but not what is shown on the verb conjugation site of Lawless French https://www.lawlessfrench.com/verb-conjugations/apparaitre/

Error on verb conjugation page
Hi Maarten,
Having double-checked, it appears that you can use both auxiliary verbs with the verb apparaître but mainly être.
This is what the Académie Française says on the matter -
https://www.dictionnaire-academie.fr/article/A9A2169
Hope this helps
Thanks for prompt reply and link, Cécile. Should/could the verb conjugations page be changed to reflect that? Also it may be worth noting that apparaitre (I see that «î» is optional) is different to connaître because of this (otherwise it seems to me that if using avoid, apparaitre follows the same basic form as paraître and connaître). It doesn't need much in the lesson, just a brief line to explain.
Are you referring to our Kwiziq lesson or Lawless French ?
I think the Kwiziq lesson being slightly modified as noted would help. The Lawless French site also doesn't mention the passé composé with être as auxiliary that I can see. I have not found any of the 'lists' or mnemonics anywhere that indicate apparaître as using être as auxiliary, nor can I understand how it is a derivative of any on the 'lists', although clearly the Academie states it uses être mostly.
Hi Maarten,
I will add it to the list of lessons to be reviewed but we do not change Laura's content pages so you will need to contact her through her website.
Thanks Cécile - I still find the linkage/interaction between the sites a bit confusing to follow! Regards
