Demi/demie
Is there a reason it should be "et demie" and not "et demi"? The former is the feminine and the latter the masculine form, right?
This question relates to:French lesson "Telling time in French - general 12-hour clock rules"
Asked 6 years ago
L'heure is a grammatically feminine noun, therefore, the adjective has to match the noun and is the feminine form demie.
Une demie-heure (30 minutes)
Une heure et demie [heure] (1h30)
Une heure et demie [heure] (1h30)
Hope that helps.
