Bonjour Manpreet kaur,
This is an excellent question ! 'prendre soin de' can be used instead of 's'occuper de' but not in this context unfortunately. It would suggest that the turkey is still alive whilst ‘s’occuper de’ can be used for people, living things as well as generally meaning ‘taking charge of’.
Je prends soin de mes animaux = I take care of my animals
Je prends soin / m’occupe de mon petit-fils = I take care of / look after my grandson
Je prends soin d’éteindre la lumière = I make sure to turn off the light
Je m’occupe d’éteindre la lumière = I take care of turning off the light
I hope this is useful.
Bonne journée !
