Is this grammatically correct for "After waking up, I'm grumpy."?
p.s. this is a one-off event, not a recurring event.

Bonjour Emily,
Thank you for your question. In French, we say “je suis grognon” for a man or a woman because “grognon” is invariable.
It should translated as:
“Après m’être réveillé(e), je me suis senti(e) grognon”
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée!
Merci Céline! What if I'm trying to express something that reoccurs as in "I'm always grumpy after waking up"? What tense should I use then?
Bonjour Emily,
As it is expressing a habit, something that happens regularly, you will use Le Présent de l’Indicatif.
Have a look at this link: le-present-usage-where-present-tense-is-used-in-english-current-actions-habits-situations
In this instance, it would be "Après mon réveil, je me sens toujours grognon".
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée!
